Guest blogger: audrey of a lovely escape

hi all - i'm audrey from a lovely escape and i'm so happy to be guest posting on johanna's blog today while she's tending to her new little bundle of joy.

if your like me and in your 20s/30s then i'm sure your summer months are quickly filling up with lots of weddings, bridal showers and the occasional baby shower. while watching people open casserole dishes and breast pumps isn't exactly my ideal saturday, there's nothing i love more then an excuse to buy a lovely new outfit for occasions like these. here are a couple of my favorite looks for summer showers.

{this pleated pink skirt has to be one of the most ladylike things in my closet. the length and color are perfect for when you need something for a more refined and proper event}

{since showers are (usually) just for the ladies, i tend to gravitate towards more feminine hues, like blushes and nudes}

{i love the soft print of this banana republic maxi dress. it looks great with wedges but a pair of flat sandals would also work for a more casual summer shower}

{this dress may be bold, but the cut is undeniably sweet and it provides a bit of glamour for showers that call for something a bit more special}
