Peonies have forever been a favorite flower of mine. In fact, I tried to time my wedding around this flower's bloom season because I loved the look, color and scent it left behind. Sadly, their season is fleeting and my husband and I had to save more money hence our wedding was in July and we settled on the hydrangea, a second cousin to the magnificent peony but I digress…I was fortunate to be gifted the new eau de parfum by L’Occitane called Pivoine Flora. Let me just say it’s scrumptious and I am not a floral-notes-kinda-gal. {In fact, I typically like dark, heavy scents like Angel, Cashmere and Prada.} Of course, the peony is the richest note of the bunch but when paired with magnolia and other musky, woody finishes…I quickly declared this perfume my “summer scent” of 2011. It should be noted that the perfume also brings forth a burst of bergamot, grapefruit and the warm scent of vanilla, too.
At $60, you really can’t go wrong with any of the products from the Pivoine Flora line. It’s the perfect, lightweight scent to take you through the sticky season and it has amazing lasting power. A spritz on the wrists and neck in the early AM powers through a day of phone calls, spills, baby spit up, rain and two outfit changes.
It’s easy to see why a multi-tasking mama favors a multi-tasking perfume now isn’t it?
