Thrifting

I am very excited about today's post. It's been ages since I have thrifted and there are a few items that I need to get my hands on. Enter Hollywood Mirror. (situated on Belmont & Clark in Chi-town) I went there yesterday and walked out with two, little prizes that have me giddy. Yes, my affection towards sequins is still going strong and if you have any eyes for fashion you will know that I am not alone. For a whopping $26 I bought the above sequin blazer. Now don't judge. I tried it on at home, removed the shoulder pads and it fits exactly like my boyfriend blazer a la Urban Outfitters. Pair it with some black leggings and a great, grey tshirt, ankle booties...some chunky jewelry and voila! (plus it covers my tush)
Gobs of vintage shoes. So fun to look at since they are displayed by color!
Piece #2 pictured above. I know what you are thinking. Frumpy. Not so! As you also know, these tie-at-the-neck "secretary" blouses are all the rage and I got one for $17! Plus I love polka dots. I am going to wear this with my favorite pair of high wasted trousers, nude pumps and some fun rocker jewelry. Voila - look #2 complete.
I had to snap the above. So Jackie O but I did not purchase. I had to stay on track.

And here she is again. My proud sequin blazer purchase. I bought a large but it looks current with today's blazer fits sans shoulder pads. I love the idea of taking something so dressy and making it a casual daytime look.
Hope you enjoyed. And stay tuned...my creative spark has flared and I plan to reincorporate thrifting back into my normally scheduled retail therapy excursions.
